Praia da Fortaleza is the longest beach on Ilha do Mel with 4 km of uninterrupted sand strip. It's in the most isolated village on the island, to the north, and is accessible only by a 40-minute trail from Nova Brasília or by boat in 10 minutes. It's a tranquil cove, without strong waves, perfect for those seeking absolute isolation. There is no infrastructure — bring water and food. In the background, the imposing Fortaleza de Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres completes the historic scenery.
