ABOUT
The Istmo, affectionately called "Passa-Passa", is the narrowest part of Ilha do Mel — only 30 meters wide. In large swells, water crosses from one side to the other. It was once completely covered by high tide in 1995. It's a unique geographic phenomenon and one of the most curious points on the island. It's between Nova Brasília and Praia do Limoeiro, accessible in a 5-minute walk.
